Financial Crisis

Relevance of Tommy Wong’s book

Three years ago, the world plunged into the deepest financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Will this kind of crisis happen again in the future? To be able to answer this question, you need to understand the mindset of the bankers. To this end, you are recommended to read the chapter “Conversation with Guru Dick” in Tommy Wong’s book “Wisdom on How to Live Life”.

Legal Transcription Jobs From Home

Legal transcription jobs from home are becoming commonplace as more and more law offices seek to reduce the cost of full time employees in the office. This presents great opportunities for ambitious and savvy people to create their own legal transcription job from home.

The cost of starting up a legal transcription business is very low.  You will have to have a computer and an Internet hookup; but these days, most people have a computer with Internet access that will work for legal transcription jobs from home.  You will also need the right software; but some of the software needed for legal transcription jobs is free and the rest is comparatively inexpensive.  You will also need some hardware like a foot switch (which will speed up transcription) and regular office supplies like pens, paper, and folders.  After that, you may need some legal transcription education.

Singapore Index Fund

The Singapore Index Fund is invested to track the ST Index. This can be bought in SGX like an ETF. I was told that it can also be bought like a unit trust. The annual management fee for this fund is 0.55% (i.e. slightly higher than  0.3% for StateStreet and 0.28% for DBS). However, being a unit trust, it allows smaller quantities to be bought, instead of 1,000 units in an ETF. If you have personal experience in investing in this fund, please share it.
