Waterman Fountain Pen | Waterman Fountain Pen

Lewis Waterman founded the Waterman fountain pen and indeed it was he who invented the capillary feed in fountain pens. The capillary action allows air to induce a steady and constant flow of ink and this capillary feed discovered by Waterman proved to be an industry wide standard. Lewis Waterman obtained a patent for his fountain pen in 1884 and Lewis was succeeded by his nephew Frank Waterman.

A Waterman fountain pen was used to sign the Versailles treaty.
