Ted Kennedy is one of the U.S.'s most famous members of the Democratic Party. A senior senator from Massachusetts, Kennedy is the second most senior senator, having served in the Senate since 1962. He is also the brother of the late President John F. Kennedy and the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated in the 1960s.
